What are spy units for and how can you use them

Spy units are automated spy drones (micro-robots) which can be used in spy missions. Some of spy missions (like industrial and planetary defence sabotage) will be activated in near 2 days. During sabotage missions fleets are not visible, but Spy Units will be destroyed after sabotage missions.

Note: Fighters will not be used for spy missions.

Hello,

I noticed, that upkeep for my modules are dropping slowly. Is that becouse of my reaserch? If so, which technology makes that cheaper? Economy?

Yes, try to research economy. But Sceince level does not affect on fleet maintenance - this is like salary for Your mercs.

Thanks. Another question:

Is it posible to view spy mission reports? In my comcentre I can see if it was succefull, and it shows a battle ID, but those reports do not appear in battle reports, nor I can click on them to read. Where are they stored?

No, only Radar and fleet operations range.

I have a couple of questions too.

First my propulsion modules arent working when they supposedly should. I just started the empire for the fourth time and now i have 23 propulsion modules which should be able to carry 184 other modules (23*8 ), i have 168 modules and it still says im not able to move my base, why is this??

Another thing, while surfing these forums i found something about an upkeep cost of my modules. I didnt find anything on the guide about upkeep... can anyone fill me in about this?

8 modules per propulsion module mean _all_ modules, including them

See extended base report - because modules maintenance (upkeeping) depend from they`s number and Your tech we can not simply put those values in Guide, but You can find all necessary info in this report.

then there's a mistake in the guide, in there it says exactly this:

Each module can move 8 other modules.

the word "other" shouldnt be there if thats the case

to be corect, it should be : '1 Propulsion module can move 8 possible modules' cause u have to have 8 times the max number of modules, not the actual, so lets say u have 40000/80000 modules, u'll need 5000 propulsion mods to move that when the guide would be true, but u'll need 10K to move that, taking the max as actual number, so whereever, there is a mistake

About the propulsion modules - I think the problem is that many people forget about extension mainframes, which also counts as modules. So when calculating necessary amount of propulsion modules also extension mainframes should be counted.

Well I got a question about module expenses:
When I started to play 1 comcenter module gave 40 UC profit (expenses were 1 UC), now expenses for 1 module is 43 UC (and growing with economics level upgrades + also increasing number of modules moves this number up), but profit ~11 UC for 1 module.
Is this is a bug or some miscalculation? I think that's illogical when expenses for all modules goes down as they should be, but expenses for comcenter modules goes up with each economics level upgrade.

Yes, extension mainframes count too. The formula for base speed is:

(1+spacetech_bonus*0.01)*initial_base_speed*((pm_power*pm)/(mainframes+am+pm+sm+dm+ccm+clm))
where initial_base_speed=1 and am...clm - base modules.

I think I`ll add it to the Guide - because I published it already in this forum.

About comcenters - shortly, this is as designed. More long description follow.
All modules maintenance will decrease as Your economic grow up. With only one exception - net income from comcenters will NOT grow up with they number. The function which reflect money net income from comcenters look like parabola. This was done to avoid "big huge money printers" - to force players make money from raid and missions.
Let say, we have 40UC from one comcenter (with all tech 0).
Then, having 1000 Comcenters we will take ~67K UC per turn,
having 10K comcenters - ~212K UC per turn,
100K Comcenters - 670K UC per turn,
1M Comcenters - 2.1M UC per turn.

But You have to pay for fleet and all other modules, isn`t it?

Your goal is - to find optimal configuration for Your fleet and base. I can make formula public, but will it be interesting? I think no.
