you say if you resaearch economics module upkeep is cheaper does that mean comcenter module upkeep also
so you could have 100s of million of comcenter modules and normaly lose say 500K+ U.C (havent reached this point) but if you had say 50% economics you would start to gain u.c

No. Comcenters upkeep is an exception from this rule - it is grown with its number - i.e. if you reach over optimal number of comcenters, 1 comcenter will make 40 UC (for example), but you will need 39.50 for it`s maintenance.
Other modules upkeep does work as expected - i.e. 50% bonus to economics will reduce 50% of module upkeep.

Yes - all depends from galaxy (each galaxy has its own constants) and fleet, other modules, etc.

I think you have to be somewhat close to the base, or a place where that mercenary's fleet was. Last round in TG i got raided by a merc on one of my planets..and my ally sent is spy ship there, did a search, and found out the location of the base..

Nobody answered the question from pauldg, He asked... :

Quote

The base movement screen has a warning saying "all unmounted modules will be crushed" or something like that.

If I have modules that are going to be automounted, but I'm also moving my base now. Does this mean that the modules that are being ordered and are in "automount" are going to be 'crushed' when they're finished ordering? or do the modules automatically get mounted without any crushing?

I've also been wondering about this... could you please fill me in?
Coz i dont feel like risking my thousands of incoming mods.

Haha, this is my own calculation formulae...
It's probably overkill, coz i dont want to risk my fighters...

This is for Planetary defense sabotage.

1. Find out how much defense he has. Either by scanning (pay by credits) or by sending a spy unit to his death as a sacrifice on raid or bombard. (i call this "Sacrificial Recon")
Also, careful with the numbers given by the scan... These are inacurate as i've found out.
So might as well send more to overkill.

2. Calculate the HP number of the planets defenses. u can find this at the guide.

3. times this by 1.5 (this will include his technology improvements.)

4. Divide this by ten (coz in spy missions, spy units do ten times as much damage.)

5. times this by (well for me, i times it by 1.5) however much you like, considering the spy unit distribution.
for me, i put 20%.

This is the number that you can send. I usually round it up again... just in case.

So weather it is overkill or not, i dont risk my fighters.

I ignore the intelligence and war tech sciences improvements. This will ensure more success in missions. (Overkill)

i do not know how to use Mercenary base location. It has coords included. so i'm confused.
Do we have to include the coords of where we "think" his base may be?

i've also tried merc base sabotage.... Which fails almost everytime... Even with millions of spy units and 60-80% spy distribution.

Hmm, I would expect that automounted modules would be ok, but I am not sure...maybe order 1 module on quick buy while moving your base and see what happens, at least you wont lose too much that way

Merc base location is like other scans I think, where the more resoruces (spy units) you use the more accurate the results will be. When I tryed it with about 1000 spy units it gave me a location that was out side the galaxy area...so that was obviously wrong...but I guess using 1 million would give you a more accurate location...

Also it may not be nessasary for a realy accurate result. If you have a krong in your alliance then they can use E-storm to take out a mercs cloaking. If you get a fairly accurate answer you can probably test E-storm weakly in a few places to find the base

I guess you will have to take all units HP into consideration, and for even a small merc this would be a huge number...

So really it would be extreemly difficult and expencive to sabotage a merc base, I guess it would only work for realy small mercs or mercs that are weak from previous attacks.

You can order modules only if You are sure, that they arrive when base movement will be finished.

The turn algorithm will delete all ready for mount modules each time, when base moved.

But with automounting, won't the delivery and mounting of modules come before or after movement? So this way automounting should avoid the modules being crushed, unless delivery is first, then movement and finaly mounting?
