This is just an idea I had from making the galaxy editor.

For a planets and stars name, could the coordinates be used? Because this would make finding a given planet much easier, because right now they seem just randomly scattered.

Also, instead of 2 numbers (these are easy to get mixed up when trying to remember and also need a comma to make sense), could maybe X coodinates be lettered and Y coordinates be numbered? Then planet orbit can be greek letter (Alpha, Beta etc)

So for lettering it would start at A-Z then AA, AB, and so on through to ZZ and then AAA-ZZZ and so on...

So a star may be AA87 or something like that. Planets around this could be AA87-Alpha etc.

Also these sound more like planet names

Also, could the galaxy have a scale along the side, showing coodinates every so often, so you can see roughly wher things are?

We plan to use a name generator for star names. Coordinates will be shown separately. Planets name will be as you described StarName-Alpha/Betta/etc.

So each star will have a 'real' name, that will be great .
