Hi,
I thought I'd mention something about vacation mode and maybe it's just a perception on my part, but then again maybe really an issue.
If an empire is doing very well and the game is coming to a close, a person can easily go on vacation for the rest of the game to solidify their points spot and the points towards their respective alliance. So, if an alliance is in first place, say by several points, why not everyone go onto vacation? Nobody can attack you so you can't loose points. They only other option for everyone else is to fight everyone else and try to gain MORE points which may not be an option.
The reason I'm stating this is I feel this may be happening. What do others think?
Thanks,

What about it? You can have 10 mercenaries in an alliance if you wanted too from my understanding of the game. What's wrong with that?

Not exist real way to find their bases with current game rules.
War becomes not interesting in such status quo.

that is so true especial for krong who not have way to repel. only have to keep cec or u2 or u3 in orbit and then fight. very annoying to do

| Yes you do have a point here. In next patch the empire on vacation mode will gain 0 score points, thus it will be no more a strategy of winning.

I hope that at the same time you will address the issue of merc's invisiblity? (btw, I think the idea of using mercs to find mercs is awesome) Trying to e-storm an entire galaxy (especially in the case of something like Pleides) just to find a merc base could be a bit annoying to say the least.
Taking care of the issue with vacation mode while leaving the merc's invisibility unaddressed could be a bit ah.. inconsiderate.

Thanks Maverick. I just thought I'd make the suggestion to allow for a better game play by all. Nothing like fighting it out until the end.
What is the issue about merc invisibility pauldg? It is one of the advantages of being a merc. If you watch the areas you are being attacked, you can then triangulate where the fleets may be coming from and then e-storm more specific areas. Also too, not all mercs choose to remain invisible, but instead build up their defense modules which make them an extremely tough opponent. Look at Main Exploids in Pleaids ... he's basically untouchable unless all members formed a strike together ... ops, did I say that out loud???

Sir, I don't know how much time you have to play DQ. Personally, I have maybe 20 min to spend. I consider school, schoolwork, and school-related activities (basically anything with the word school in it) to be more important than this game. Ergo, I can't spend as much time playing.. ergo I don't have the time to watch over my systems figuring out the trajectory of the merc fleet or the time to triangulate where they came from.
The ability of the mercs having a "job" which = finding an invis merc's base is awesome from two angles: 1) gives the merc race a reason for existing (sorry to all mercs out there.. but from my p.o.v. you're totally useless from the "job" position) and 2) liberates the rest of us from the terror of a strong invis merc.

Mercs aren't totally useless. and it would be better if we had more job options. i posted some ideas under "Merc Hiring" and it turned out to be a pretty good discussion. maybe we could use that system
