Ok, I made an excel worksheet with loads of calculations for all weapons. And have best weapon for each situation. Its actualy quite interesting. And not how I expected, each situation has a different weapon thats best.

I know the best overall weapon, as in works best in all ranges, and lots of other things. If you want I can send it you to see,

Next I plan to factor in cost, and overall cost. I will calculate best weapon for its build cost, but also, try and form a value based on calculating the value of a single unit of space, obviously this depends on the ship class, but weapons such as Subspace torpedo can only be built on titans, so this will bring up its cost, than for example the same fire power from a small weapon on a corvette. Also engine cost and other equipment cost needs to be counted, so it will be a big calculation I need.

Basicaly the best weapon and ship and equipment combination, for overall power for money, for each situation. And then, that should be the ultimate attack ship

If the guardians are going to have AI to control them, this should be useful, because you can have them build the best ship for the situation

Oh, only value I havent counted is shield regeneration. Does this repair 10% per turn on fleets, and 100% per turn on buildings? Because that will have a big effect I think.

Also, it will be effected by battle duration, so its kind of hard to predict its influence on battle...

EDIT: Ok, after a crazy amount of calculations, I now have the best value weapon for fire power per build cost, including the shield and armour bonuses, for each battle range, and an overall best across all ranges.

Also, I have the best weapon and ship combination for each range, and also best across all ranges, for overall smallest cost per damage.

Basicaly the best ship and weapon combination for each range, when you consider the price per space on the ship, and how much space each weapon requires. And how much damage (including bonuses) you get at each range from that.

All thats left is to combine the space and weapon cost calculations, to mathematicaly design the most cost effective ship for each situation.

I decided not to count shield regeneration, instead concidered both a shield and armour bonus as equal. For this to be the case you would need about 5 battle rounds, so that may not be too realistic, but its impossible to calculate exactly how long the average battle will last anyway. It depends on so many things, and a lot on who the enemy is.

EDIT:

Ok, assuming my calculations are correct, and thats a big assumption as their are thousands...the best ship for value for money every time is a corvette, the weapon changes, but no matter what corvettes always give best value for money, in every situation...

Anyway, I think their is some balancing needs doing with ship costs, but I will start a new thread for that in general discussions
