| Send them to Ce-Ra system. It is near your Kefru-Mejez system. Total fleets strength should be about 75K. This message was edited by Maverick

Do you want me to send all 5 fleets or 55k damage worth (each of the 5 is 55k together its 275k)?
|
| Send 2 of them, then. (~100K) This message was edited by Maverick

Hey, havnt been on for a few days, been really busy and away alot.
Anyway, I'm back now, so...
Quote Ok K, for the ranged battles, my 3 fleets, Long, Medium, and Short, are jumping to Oikkh as a staging area. Pick 3 stars nearby, and we can test this out
|

Ok, I won 2 and lost 1. But that battle went on 91 turns?!?!? Thats insane, expecialy for such low numbers of ships. I think maybe some sort of increase in speed is needed, huge battles with tons of ships should go on, but when 1 ship survives for ages, its a bit annoying...
Maybe loop the battle if no ships are destroyed, so you force a second battle, and third etc the same turn untill at leas 1 ship is destroyed...
Quote Ok so far, close fleets, if equipped properly seem to have fair the best. My close specialized fleets are doing the best while my far ones are doing worst right now. I think theyre all still losing to K, so we'll see.
|
|
Ok, is that the fleet you sent to Gamisine? Becuase thats when you won. Anyway, I need to look over the stats from the battle and will later or tomorrow, just got home now
Quote By the way, K, can you check our forums?
[q]I sent you a message that i would like answered asap. Im planning to buy Torque this week, i just wanna make sure i get the right one lol.

Yeah, ok Will check now.
Anyway, I will start building fleets now and stuff, ready for testing. But, I think that fleet was a bit big to be destroyed almost totaly in a bombardment. I dont know how many ships exactly should be, but ships take time to build, and you should be able to make back the resources you spend on capturing the planet within a reasonable ammount of time. Not sure of the exact time, but it would take a single planet (even large ultra rich alpha gaea) a long time to produce all those ships.
Also, for bombardment, the point is to do more damage to the enemy than you take yourself. With that many ships lost it works out that the attacker looses more, so whats the point? Would be easier just to destroy enemy ships as they build, and thats another thing that is a problem. If only 1 ship builds at a time, then as I did to disrupter earlier in the round, you can just place a reasonable fleet at their star and destroy anything they make. With shields rcovery and stuff, you wouldnt loose much, and the enemy has no power, and it all works out much cheaper than bombardment...

| In some way you are right, but don't forget that destroying a planet economy will not allow your opponent to develop. It will take same insane amount of time to develop this planet one more time. And don't forget that we are talking about fully developed planet that should require lots of ship to be destroyed/conquered.
I hope most bombardments and invasion will occur in mid phase of the game.
Nevertheless, I agree that 75K fleet it too much for 1 planet.

I dont think it would take that long, and if you have quick buy also then you could rebuild in a few turns. It will cost a bit, but no where near as much as the cost the enemy spent on the fleet...

Yeah, fully developed should cost a lot...guess in that case you should loose alot, for basic colonies though it should be quite easy to bombard...
Also, I think planet size should have some effect on battle, a small planet should be easier to bombard/invade than a large. In DQ:E you had more space, so could build more defences, but in DQ:H its not the case. All planets can have everything so you would loose as much to a small planet as a large.
So, how about using planet size to effect accuracy of attacks. If you drop a bomb on a small planet, its more likely to hit something than if you droped it on a large planet. Bigger planets have more empty space so this lowers chance of hitting an enemy building etc.
Maybe divide accuracy by planet size or something?

So should a planet be more or less powerful then the equivalent of 75k?

NOTE: Battles are turned off until bombardment is implemented.
So currently we have (we will balance all these of course):
H - Health/Structure
S - Shield
- Defense network: Increase precision by 25%. Has H: 5000 S: 0
- Missile Base: Fires 5 best torpedoes. Maximum possible damage is 12500. Has H: 10000 S:5000
- Ground Batteries: Fires 20 best beams. Maximum possible damage is 4000. Cannot be attacked by ship beams/torpedoes from space. Can be destroyed only by bombing. Has H: 10000 S: 5000
- Stellar Converter: Fires 1 heavy beam composed from 25 best beams. Maximum possible damage is 5000. Will attack biggest ships first, regardless of fleet formation. Has H: 5000 S: 2500
- Space Station: Fires 5 best torpedoes and 20 best beams. Maximum possible damage is 16500. Has H: 10000 S: 5000
- Battle Station: Fires 10 best torpedoes and 40 best beams. Maximum possible damage is 33000. Has H: 20000 S: 10000
- Star Fortress: Fires 15 best torpedoes and 60 best beams. Maximum possible damage is 49500. Has H: 30000 S: 15000
Now take in consideration that maximum possible damage can happen when precision is 100% which never happens.
Tomorrow I plan to finish planet bombardment. Hope you'll be able to test it near the end of the day.

Bombardment is almost done. Currently I'm hunting a bug that destroys all buildings on a planet in first battle round. K probably have noticed this already I'm testing bombardment on his planets
Implementation took longer than I expected, sorry.

Bug fixed! You can test it now.
My first impressions:
- orbital battle is going almost good. inflicted damage is ok ships going down 4-5 battleships per round.
- planetary bombs are way too strong or buildings "health" should be bigger.

| Go to fleet screen and press on path management icon for desired fleet. A popup will appear. There you can set a path for your fleet with specific commands (note: colonization and invasion does not work yet).

Yay finally a need for the frigates and destroyers and things. My Annoyance class Frigates are living up to their names
Lets see how the Hit and Runs Destroyers do

Ok, I will test this over the weekend. Been a bit busy the last few days with stuff.
Anyway. I am also going away for a week next week, so wont be around then either. Butwhen I get back should have quite a bit more time hopefully.
