A star system has 2 status: not explored/scanned or the planets are showed.
I suggest that you create a 3th status: "explore/scan in progress". This is because I explore/scan using the empire map and send satelites/Y-nodes to a greate number of not explored/scanned systems. Until the yellow line in Human race or the yellow dot in the Krong appears in the map, sometime I had tryied to explore/scan a star system again and receive the message:
"FAILED: Satellites already sent to Star System [843,747]" for Humans
or
"FAILED: Y-node creation in progress for this system" for Krong.
