When a certain tech is first researched (buildings, col ships, terraforming, etc). Just as a bonus, could you home planet automaticaly get given that item, for free?
This makes sence, as prototyping and testing the idea would produce a working version, and your home planet is the best target.
This gives some instant advantage from research, rather than having to wait.
