I think some of the early sciences are still too high. Things like some of the production buildings. So far getting your home planet off to a good start is too hard, and building colonisation ships are also too expencive and takes forever, I had them on over night and only have 500 out of the 1500 needed...

Production is important early on, and 300+ points per research + resources to build them + maintenance to keep them all just makes anything almost impossible.

So far its been 175 turns, and I have been growins quite slowly, but already I am struggling to support what I built...and am not gaining from some of it...

While getting to col ships is fine now, I cant build them...and if I built them I couldnt support them, so all this needs a bit of balancing.

I think if farms and production buildings were easier to get and also less to maintain then it should solve this.

Strange, but my thoughts were that early science are too low
On early stage you should have quick access to only few and basic buildings and all other should come later. I do agree that colony ship is too expensive and I'll set its base cost to 1000 (500 is too low I think)

To help player in early stage I'm planning (as mentioned in other post) to add some base buildings that doesn't require a technology. Two of them in my mind: Farm Complex +1 food/farmer and Factory Complex +1 production/worker. Both with 1 maintenance and 20 cost.

Next I'm planing to implement taxes. Population will generate some income. Taxes will reduce population growth.

After all above I think the problem with maintenance will not be so evident anymore and early stage of the game would be ok. At least I hope so

Well thank god for taxes. Taxes, once balanced and perfected, would drastically help the maintenance issues, in my opinion.

Afterall, from what Emperor L has been saying, it sounds nearly impossible to get on your feet and grow.

EDIT: Thanks for those 2 little starter buildings. I now, officially, have +2 income instead of -4 lol.

14 Maintenance is a bitch though...

Could the maintenance of the automated farms and auotmated factories be made lower or their output increased? They are about the same as these, except cost twice as much per turn...think thats the only problem left.

Also, 1000 for col ships seems ok, I am half way to one now, and with lower maintenane they should be ok

Also, could the pollution removal of recycling center be changed higher? 5 is not enough, and with the new building its going to grow even more. Maybe it could be 10? I already have recycling center, and still 2 polution, it grows even more if I put more population onto production...e

Automated farms and automated factories have 1 fro maintenance. Automated farms add +2 food/colony and +1 food/farmer so they are better than Farm Complex. Automated factories add +5 production/colony and +1 production/worker, so they are better than Factory Complex.

Oh, ok. Just on the list I have it says its 2 maintenance

Is it possible to upload a file with all the new values? So we can see exactly what is what, and I guess this will all be in the guide eventualy anyway, so it would help for now.

If you've noticed we have a new menu item - DQ:H Encyclopedia. You will have required info there. It is generated on DB data so it will have the latest info. Otherwise I would have to send you an xls file on daily bases

I don't know, it would be good to have them all with jokes, but for now shall I just make a basic description and think of some things else to say, like short history of the item?

I think having jokes for all will be a bit much and loose its intrest if they all do, but some now and then would be good.

Some can have famous quotes if they work, others a made up/real history and other things. These can all make them interesting and worth reading through...

I havent thought of anything really, never even bothered lol.

How about ET instead of X, obviously for Extra-Terrestrial?

Oh and i saw the new Empire counter, i actually have money 112 (+11 income).

No, no krogn or fagur involved . Actually I got this X thing from a very popular game from 4x series Galactic Civilizations II. in this game they call it "Xeno ...". SO I made it a s an abbreviation.

Feel free to invent something new
