I think some balancing is needed for population growth rate.

The problem is that early on (when you just colonise a planet), its too expencive to build the population growth buildings, but later when you can build them, you dont need them because your planet is full.

I think the real problem is that the max population is reached too fast, but making it any slower will effect planet production too much.

Maybe one thing would be good, is if there was more use for population, like in DQ:E you trained troops with population, so this drained population and so growth was important. In DQ:H right now, when population reaches its max, it stays there, and thats it.

I dont really know what should be done about it, if there was some use for population though, it would help...

I'm not concerned about population growth. We can decrease all rates for a slower growth and increase colony starting population to 3, for example. My concerns about balance is that we are 1/5 turns and I'm well defended and no one can attack me or take my planets. Buildings are constructed too fast imho, researching is a little bit too fast also.

We need a good brainstorming here to make a good balance for everything

Yeah, I think science has lots of balancing needed. Some of the later techs are too easy to get, expecialy now you have a research queue. Before it was a lot slower.

I haven't really had enough time to grow that fast this round, but I have already researched many techs, without doing much. The queue is very useful, but makes research much faster.

I think the early researches are fine, but some later techs should be a bit more.

Also, some later defences should also cost more, they should be similar cost to ships for same fire power. Right now cheap defences can destroy expencive ships.
