Did you really intend that these planets be conquered by sending over 7 million troops? It's not that big a force, resource wise, but it would take some logistics to train that many troops. It is not realistic to train more than 100000 at a time at one planet, and that would require more bases than I usually have. And it would still require training at 70 planets, and then moving them all to a rally point. And building extra farms to support them, I guess. Lots of work

I don't think I would choose to do all this work, but rather reduce my bomber force so that the planetary defenses were not completely wiped out. But as I said, I regard this as an artificial situation - I mean, look at your own reply, you talk about the guardian planets as being strongholds that SHOULD take large forces to conquer - yet here we have a situation where I should in fact have used LESS. Perhaps not absurd alltogether, but still... artificial, at least

Just a hint: use your merc friends to sabotage planetary defences. Thus you wouldn't need 7 mill. troops.

Let me just stress that I have no intention of telling you how to make your own game, I'm just uncertain that this is the way you really wanted it to be. If you say everything is as it's meant to be, I'm sure I will find a way to adapt to the situation

A good constructive conversation is always welcomed So far Guardians are working exactly as they sould. But we are opened for good ideas

How about the guardians having the ability to go AFTeR the people who attack them, IF the attack of the people attacking wasn't successful?

I will get around to experimenting with the mercs sooner or later, I guess But if it turns out that it is much, much cheaper to sabotage then I will probably be back to complain that the game is unbalanced

For now I will accept that the Guardians work as intended, and try not to get this further off-topic

7 million aint that much really, especially later in the game when you've got systems with several colonised planets, each with 1million+ poplation and >200 bases. One effort across several systems and you've generated such a force, even in just one system i was generating 600,000+ troops every 40 or so turns when i was on a gentle warpath.

Also, i never seemed to have to feed my troops when they were on transports going places - only when they were on the ground doing nothing. Guess they are in a state of suspended animation!
