I have thought of a good way to explore.

Could it be possible to have a way of exploring stars using galactic credits?

Each galaxy has many stars, so maybe it could cost 1 GC per star, and could work in 2 ways.

Firstly would be mass scan, this works like group exploring in DQ:E, except is instant.

Second way it to click on an unexplored star and this takes you to an explore screen, where you can decide if you wish to spend a GC to explore the star.

Hehe Good idea. This is an alternative for the "observatories" building. We'll have to decide which way it should be implemented.

I think maybe both would be good. As it is, exploring is a huge problem, even in TG with just over 1000 stars, I didnt even come close to exploring the whole galaxy (untill you opened whole map for empire), and I spent MUCH more time that round than normal. I had 100 alpha gaea, and I spent ages exploring.

In a galaxy like Trio with over 2000 stars, the problem gets worse.

So, maybe a building that takes science points (maybe quite a lot) to auto explore would be good. This would be the 'free' way to explore, but should be quite slow, but at least is automatic.

And second way is to use GC, and this is instant exploring, and also means you do not need to waste science points for exploring.

Of course, players can still use the old way to move a fleet to each star, but this will probably be only used near the start of a round, before they have observatories.

Only problem is that it depends on cost. To explore the whole of Trio, even with only 1 GC per star, would take over 2000 credits.

But I think this is fine, as it should not be about exploring the whole galaxy at once, this would make it too easy for paying players, but instead it should be about deciding if certain stars are worth paying to explore, not just mass scan entire galaxy. If you want to do this this then it will cost a lot of credits.
