Ok, here is a bit to replace Quote When you are ready, click and [insert details of what is sent etc]
|
| on colony page.
When you are ready click [go] and the entire fleet will be sent to the target star system, and upon arrival will attempt to colonise the planet.
---------------------------
Also, for the bottom of the 'Colonisation section, maybe a little note:
Note: If a planet is already taken when a colonization ship arrives, then the mission will fail, and the colonisation ship will remain idle in the star system of the target planet.
---------------------------
Also, as I said in another thread, for the resources page, some description of how much pollution harms a planet, and also, how much money is made from excess food+production would be good.
Does exces science get used for anything?
--------------------------
For the services page, what is needed exactly? I think a dscription about galactic credits is needed, and how these can be gained. would help, so mabe for now:
----
Delta Quadrant: Horizons has many optional services that will enhance your playing experience, provide additional functionality, and make common tasks within the game easier.
[h1]Galactic Credits [/h1]
Galactic Credits [insert symbol] are a special resource, used for buying services, and activating additional features within Delta Quadrant: Horizons. You can obtain galactic credits in several ways:
[h2]Prize at end of round [/h2]
[Need details here]
More ways of obtaining credits will be added in the future.
----
Thats all I can think of for now. I think maybe a description of the services page is needed, and also, there are 2 catogorys of services, those on services page that are time limited, and apply to an entire account. And those 'one time only' services, such as renaming a planet or starting/joining an alliance.
I think a section on each type, and a list of all services in each would be best.
-----------------------
Also, for resources page, a section for Galactic credits:
[h2]Galactic Credits [/h2]
Galactic credits are a special resource, used for buying services, and activating additional features within Delta Quadrant: Horizons. See the [link] services [/link] page for more details.

Done.
Quote Also, as I said in another thread, for the resources page, some description of how much pollution harms a planet, and also, how much money is made from excess food+production would be good.
|
| 2 units of pollution will reduce food production by 1. 4 units of pollution will reduce production by 1.
Quote Does exces science get used for anything?
|
| No. It is lost. I alows us to slow a bit very fast researchers

| Think that just mentioning that there are diferent types of services will be enought. Maybe later will add a list with services.

Here is a draft for the alliances page, it isnt ready yet, still lots I need to check next round, and more to add, but i will post it here so it dont get lost:
-----------------------------------------------------------------
The galaxy can be a dangerous place, but in Delta Quadrant: Horizons, you do not have to face these dangers alone. Empires may form alliances and fight together against their enemies.
[H1]Galaxy Alliances[/H1]
Alliances exist for a single round only, and must be started by a player. Once started, other players may request membership, by sending a request to the alliance leader, who is free to accept or decline any request as they wish.
[H2]Starting an Alliance[/H2]
From the Alliance Page [insert details of forming new alliance]
Once created, you will become the leader of the new alliance. It is your task to recruit new members, and lead your alliance to victory.
[H2]Accepting Alliance Requests (Alliance Leaders Only)[/h2]
If you are the leader of an alliance, you may receive a request from another empire to join. These requests will be listed on the ‘Members’ tab of the Alliance Page, under ‘Membership Candidates’.
You can accept, decline or ignore this request as you wish. To accept [insert details], or similarly, to decline [details].
[H2]Joining an Alliance[/H2]
From the Alliance Page [insert details of sending request]
Once sent, you must wait for the alliance leader to either accept or decline your request.
If you wish to cancel your request [details].
[H1]Alliance Relations[/h1]
There are three possible relations between alliances. These are Non-aggression Treaty (NAP), Neutral and War.
[h2]Non-aggression Treaty (NAP)[/h2]
[h2]Neutral[h2]
[h2]War[/h2]
----------------------------------------------------------------
BTW, is it possible to allow empires (without alliance) to be at war/NAP/neutral with other empires/alliances? It will allow map to display colors for those not in an alliance, and allow war etc.
Also, on map, could any empire/alliance you have NAP with be marked blue? To mark between neutral, and Nap?

Also, for guide, a few changes:
Can all places where it says 'Note:' Be changed to same format, I think red looks best, but any way, as long as they are all the same.
All places are:
--------------------------
Resources Page > 'Freighters' and 'Specialist' sections
Colony Page > 'Colonization from Explored Planets Database' section (already red).
Colony Page > 'Colony Information Screen' section (has 3 need changing in each section).
Fleets Page > 'Merging Fleets from the Galaxy Map' and 'Creating Fleets' sections
-------------------------
Also, on 'Merging Fleets from the Galaxy Map' section of fleets page, could the bit that says ' The second will merge all selected fleets in the selected location.' Have the word 'Selected' made bold? makes it a bit clearer

| I'll put it in suggestions. It needs some benchmarks ro see if it doesn't requiere a lot of db operations.

Here is some more text for the Services page of guide:
------------------------
[h2]Reward for voting at top web games sites [/h2]
Players are rewarded Galactic Credits for voting at certain top web game sites. In order to vote, hover your mouse over the [insert GC icon] symbol in the top right corner of the game screen, and click the links indicated. For some sites, clicking the link is enough. Other requires verification before your vote is accepted.
[red]Note:[/red] Once you have voted, the link will be blocked until it is possible to vote again.

Here is some text for the 'Colony Queue' section of the colonies page.
--------------------------
The colony queue shows items you have ordered at a colony, but have not yet completed.
All items that have been ordered, require a set number of production points [symbol] before they can be completed. Until this time, these items sit in the colony queue, and will be completed from the top, downwards.
The item at the top of the queue is the item next to complete. The time [insert symbol] until completion is shown, and is calculated according to colonies current production[symbol] output. Changes to colony output will cause this time to change.
The current number of production[symbol] points is also shown, and the number required for completion.
[Red]Note:[/red] Unless you have the 'Unlimited colony queue' service activated, the colony queue has a maximum length of 9 items. Once full, no new items can be added untill some are completed or removed. See the [link]Services[/link] page for details of activating services.
[h2]Moving and Removing Items in Queue[/h2]
You can move items in the colony queue, up and down. This will change the order in which they are built. To move an item up click [up icon], similarly to move it down, click [down icon].
You can also delete an item from queue by clicking [delete icon], this will stop it building.
If you move or delete the item currently at the top of the queue, or if excess points remain after its completion, then the unused production points[symbol] will be given to the item that then moves to the top of the queue, if one exists. Else they will be kept and used the next time an item is added to the queue.
[h2]Accelerating Construction[/h2]
It is possible to hurry the construction of an item at the top of the queue, by using money [icon] from your empires treasury.
In order to hurry production, click [money icon] next to the item at the top of the queue, and confirm. The price of hurrying an item is [insert cost] money per production point[symbol].
---------------------------------
Also, on resources page, in section 'Empire Treasure', could it be possible to add text 'See [anchor= Colonies#Accelerating Construction"] Accelerating Construction.[/anchor]'
This make navigation easier. A few other anchors and links may help in other places also, I will make a list.

Also, the ship components page section for battle computers need changing for new accuracy system.
The text can be:
'Battle computers increase the accuracy of your ships weapons, and therefore result in more damage done by your ship. Only one battle computer can be equipped on a single ship.'
Text when hovering over the 'electronics' icon needs changing also. Maybe to same text as in game. That would be 'Performance (Increase Weapons Precision By %)'.
-------------------------------------------
Also, next round lots of changes, so guide will need some updates.
I think colonies page, about colony limit and related techs.
Colonies page about abandon option.
Information about warp gates. Maybe newpage in buildings sections?
---------------------------------------
Also some changes for fleets screen.
Firstly could the part 'You can create, merge and rename fleets from the Fleets Management Screen [icon]' be moved from the creating fleets section, and placed under the intro text at the top of the page.
Next, could the section 'Creating Fleets' be moved to be under the intro (and under the bit just moved) also, so it is first section on page.
This follows more logical order I think the fleets page is complete then.
---------------------------------------------
Also, a few structure changes to guide.
I think the fleets page is getting a bit too long. This is about making fleets, and I think a new page for controling fleets is needed.
Could the 'Fleets' page be made into a main section?
This could be under the 'ships section'
A new page 'Controlling Fleets' could be added within fleets section.
Also, I think ranking page should be about empire ranking in galaxy, not about hall of fame on front page.
A new page could be added at the bottom of the 'Getting Started section, and named 'Miscellaneous', and this page can be for short descriptions of things not realy worth a whole page, but that dont really fit anywhere else. Hall of fame can be on this page, and maybe a few other things such as description of private messages, and forums, profile page, and maybe some other things.
EDIT: Also, a page for in fleets section for 'Formations and Tactics' would be good also. I edited structure below. I plan to rewrite much of battles page, as its not as good as other pages, and some will be moved to formations and tectics page. Battles page need description of battle reports also.
So guide structure will be:
Getting Started
~Resources
~Battles
~Alliances
~Services
~Miscellaneous
Empire
~Colonies
~Ranking
Buildings
~Ground buildings
~Orbital buildings
Ships
~ Ships Classes
~ Ship Components
Fleets
~ Controlling Fleets
~ Formations and Tactics
Galaxies
~Stars
~Planets

~Technologies tree

Ok, next for the science section. Will the tech tree page be changed to be similar to the in game tech tree? Also, I am guessing each individual tech page (when clicking on tech name) will automaticaly be generated? And include large image, description etc, and maybe prerequisite and what follows it, also any techs it is required for. Maybe a list with three columns for this?
Anyway, a little exists on the science page, but it needs a few changes, so I will post some text to replace the current page:
-----------------------------------------------
In Delta Quadrant: Horizons, you must research many technologies in order to advance your empire. You research technologies using research points[symbol] that are made by your scientists[green specialist symbol] and science buildings. These points can be used to progress along the tech tree, and research new technologies.
[h1]The Technologies Tree[/h1]
The tech tree contains all technologies that can be researched in Delta Quadrant: Horizons. It is divided into several paths, each related to a different area of science. You are free to progress along these paths in any order you wish. However certain technologies have prerequisites that you must have researched first.
You may view a version of the tech tree [link to tech tree page]here[/link], or access the in game version from the ‘Research and Technologies Screen’.
[h1]Research and Technologies Screen[/h1]
The Research and Technologies Screen [icon] allows you to manage your empires research.
This page has two views, Grid View[icon] and Tree View[icon]. Each has its benefits, and you will probably make use of both.
[h2]Grid View[/h2]
By default the Research and Technologies Screen shows in Grid View. However if you wish to return to it, you can do so by clicking [grid icon] in the top right corner of the research screen.
Grid view displays all technologies that are currently available to research. These are the technologies that you have all necessary prerequisites for. The technologies are organised into columns, depending on the area they relate to, such as biology, engineering or warfare.
[h2]Tree View[/h2]
Tree view can be accessed by clicking [tree icon] in the top right corner of the research screen.
Tree view displays the full technologies tree, including all completed, available and unavailable technologies. Technologies are organised into paths in which they can be researched.
[h1]Technologies[/h1]
Technologies are split into three types, each marked with a different background color. They also have a different colored border, depending on availability.
[h2]Research Type[/h2]
[Blue square] - Theory
Theory is the most common type of research. Some theory techs result in new abilities, such as the ability to colonize planets, or build a new class of ship, while others are just steps towards a more advanced technology, and provide no immediate advantage.
[Green square] - Building
Building techs allow you to construct a new type of building on your planets. Buildings enhance your colonies, often by providing defence or making them more productive. For more information see the [link]Buildings[/link] page.
[Grey square] - Ship Component
Ship Component techs provide you with another component for your ships. More advanced technologies provide a greater effect on your ship. For more information see the [link]Ship Components[/link] page.
[h2]Availability[/h2]
[White square] - Completed (You already have this technology).
[Green square] - Available for research (You can add this tech to the research queue).
[Red square] - Not yet available (You do not have all prerequisites for this technology).
Technologies can have primary and secondary prerequisites. Primary requisites are shown by a previous technology (to the left) on a path. Secondary prerequisites are shown by a small image of another tech that must also be completed first.
Secondary prerequisites are marked with a small red [red circle] or green [green circle] circle on top of the image. Such as [any tech image with red circle] and [any tech image with green circle].
[h1]Research Queue[/h1]
Your empire can research only one technology at a time. However, you can place several items to queue, so that when one is complete, another will start.
[more details need adding here]
[Red]Note:[/red] Unless you have the 'Unlimited research queue' service activated, the research queue has a maximum length of 3 items. Once full, no new items can be added until some are completed or removed. See the [link]Services[/link] page for details of activating services.
---------------------------------------------------
I will write a bit more for research queue soon.

I plan to finish alliances page, and will test things using development server. Could I have some GC on the development server, so I can create, delete alliances and send request etc?
I have 55 points right now on dev server, I already tested some things, but need to create an alliance (or I could try this next round in real game I guess). I sent a request to join TF, could you accept it? I will test leaving alliance etc.
Also, I noticed I could send requests to multiple alliances. Is this intended? What happens if both alliances accept? Will I join the first to accept, or change alliance if another accepts?
Maybe create another alliance if it needs testing.
Here is some text for dissolving alliance, it could go under the 'Accepting Alliance Requests' section.
---------------------------------
[h2]Dissolving an alliance (Alliance Leaders Only)[/h2]
If you are the leader of an alliance, you can dissolve it. In doing so, the alliance will cease to exist, and all members will return to having no alliance.
To dissolve an alliance, go to the ‘Members’ tab of the Alliance page, and click the ‘Dissolve’ button at the bottom of the page. Confirm and your alliance will be dissolved.
----------------------------------
Here is text for 'Joining an Alliance' section, it can replace existing text:
-----------------------------------
If you are not currently a member of an alliance, you may send a request to join one.
To send a request, go to the alliance page, and find an alliance you would like to join. You can view information about each alliance, such as name, leader and the number of members. When you have decided, click [apply] and confirm, and a request will be sent to the alliance leader. The ‘Apply’ button will also change to ‘[red] Membership pending [/red]’. You must now wait for the alliance leader to either accept or decline your request.
If you wish to cancel your request click [red cross symbol] and the request will be cancelled.
[red]Note:[/red] You may send request to multiple alliances at the same time. You will join the alliance that accepts your request first. [Need to check this]
[Red]Also Note:[/red] Sending an alliance join request costs 50 [GC Symbol]. You will not get this back, even if your request is rejected, or if you cancel it yourself.
