Chronicles as in histories?

Perhaps explain how Humanity is alone in a galaxy after, say, the Krong destroyed the Eye completely.

Yeah, I think we need to go back a bit, DQ:H is where humans first venture into space, and krong etc are not yet known.

So, we need to put a bit in about how tech evolved etc, and maybe the first wars between humans.

Shall I post the chronicles up?

-Origin of the Universe and Life-

In the beginning there was nothing, no planets, no stars and no life. Things should have remained like this forever, but about 14 billion years ago, a colossal explosion changed everything. In one split second, the universe was born.

For a long time the universe had little order, but eventually the hydrogen and helium fused to make the elements that are known today. One of these was an extremely dense and unstable element named Destructium. It was this that pulled the first planets, stars and galaxies together.

As the new elements formed, the possibility of life began. Two distinct types emerged. The first were simple inorganic nano-machines, that formed somewhere within the vast dust clouds of the early galaxies, the second were organic cells that formed in the oceans of the planets. Both would change over time to form the races that exist today.

-Destructium: The Creator of Worlds-

Until the formation of Destructium, the universe had little shape or structure. The high temperature of the early universe made it a place of mostly dust and gas, with very few large objects. But the high temperature allowed the formation of the element Destructium. Destructium was very dense. Its mass gave it a strong gravitational pull, and as small lumps of Destructium formed, other molecules were pulled in and the first objects of the universe began to form. Soon the first galaxies, stars and planets had been born, with the Destructium sealed inside.

Eventually everything settled down, the young planets cooled and crystals formed. The planets were finally suitable for life to begin.

-Simple Nano-machines to Krong Conglomerates-

The krong’s story begins with the nano-machines that formed within the dust clouds of one small area of an early galaxy. From this early stage the nano-machines were able to gather metals and energy from their surroundings and use these to multiply. Soon an entire network of them existed, and over time these nano-machines began to form clusters that could perform simple tasks for the benefit of the entire group. The very first Y-units were produced.

It was many thousands of years until the next big step in Krong evolution. The Y-units drifted through space until they came to a planetary system. Four groups became distinct once they descended into the atmospheres of the planets.

The first clustered upon vast crystal pockets to absorb energy that they could distribute throughout the network. The second clustered on mineral deposits to gather minerals for further expansion. The third clustered together to promote the creation of more Y-units.
The fourth and final group, however, was a little more adventurous. Their purpose was to delve deep into the planets, in order to exploit better resources that were below the surface, but they found the greatest treasure of all. It was this group that discovered Destructium.

-Simple Cells to Advanced Biological Races-

The Traders, Human and Fagur story is very different from that of the Krong’s. It begins with cells. It is unknown how these began, but it was not a unique event. Cells had started to develop across millions of planets, in all areas of the Delta Quadrant. They had basic functions that were controlled by their nucleus, and unlike the Krong nano-machines, were totally independent of each other.
The main raw materials needed were the elements carbon, hydrogen and oxygen. These were plentiful in most regions, and were used by the cells to form proteins. The necessary instructions for protein synthesis were stored within the nucleus as complex molecules called DNA.

But DNA was much more important than this. Due to its adaptable nature, the cells soon began to change to suit their environments better.

Over time, and as evolution continued, the cells on many planets began to form clusters that would support each other. This was the beginning of the first organisms and where organic life as we know it began.

Each planet has its own story and species, but the most common life forms were producers. These absorbed energy from their star and would use the resources around them to grow. It is these producers that we call biomass.

On most planets, this is as far as life evolved. But on a few worlds this was just the beginning. More complex life forms evolved, creatures that could think about their actions, creatures that could influence the world around them for the good of their kind. On the worlds that this happened, life began to flourish. Millions of species would evolve, and each would have its own position within its eco-system.

For almost all planets, this was the final stage in the evolution of life. The creatures would continue to evolve, but no more real advances would be made.

But, as far as we know, three planets had one final step. On these planets a species would evolve that was far beyond that of the others. These species had a new form of intelligence, the capability of thinking about the world around them, they studied themselves and the universe, and it was these that would eventually become the great biological races we know today.

-Fagur: The Avatar of Life-

The first great biological race to evolve was the Fagur. In fact the Fagur started out as a type of plant, but with the evolution of the hive, new organs soon began to develop. The hive also provided the Fagur with its first real form of intelligence.

The next organ to evolve was a primitive version of the tachy. This first evolved as a way of collecting nutrience, and was basically a trap formed over narrow holes in the ground. The early tachy would attract small creatures using a scent, and upon getting close the unsuspecting victim would fall into the hole and be consumed by corrosive substances secreted at the bottom. The tachy however developed significantly, and over time evolved the ability to fire its corrosive juices high into the air to defend against flying foes.

After this the Fagur began to expand rapidly. The Fagur had previously expanded through the use of spores, but the ability to fire objects into the air not only served as a means of defence, but soon became the basis of its reproduction. Fagur eggs grew in mutated versions of the tachy that became known as a Necator. These Necators secreted the vital nutrients needed for the growth of Fagur eggs, and these eggs could then be launched over large distances to grow a new hive.

Next in the Fagur evolution came the Troph. As the Fagur entity grew it needed more and more resources. These resources could not be provided by roots alone and a more specialised organ evolved. The Troph is an organ that collects resources from its surroundings by using root like tentacles to pull in nearby objects like trees and plants. This biomass is then converted into a substance called biogel that is used by the Fagur for almost all its functions. The troph’s tentacles can even dig into the ground to gather minerals and crystals for the Fagur.

Obviously the increase in resource production presented a new problem for the Fagur. The biological nature of biogel meant that it easily decayed in the atmosphere. A new storage organ evolved called a Proglotum, and this was basically a tough storage sac where resources could be stored.

This was the last advance the Fagur made for thousands of years, but once it had covered its home world the Fagur grew its first creatures. The First was the sarc, a specialised catapult that evolved from the Tachy. Unlike the tachy, sarcs could move and could also launch objects like fagur eggs into outer space. With this advance the Fagur soon occupied several planets in its home system and it even began travelling to other systems. It was not long before Fagur could be found in many galaxies across the Delta Quadrant.

The Fagur used it resources from other planets to bioform new worlds that were less capable of supporting life. Soon its influence had caused an abundance of biomass in the galaxy and most planets became inhabitable. It is this that earns the Fagur its title of Avatar of Life.

The final advancement came much later in the form of Anizacs. Anizacs are creatures used for fighting, and were grown as a response to Krong and human attacks. Soon the Fagur developed its psi powers and became a major force in the Delta Quadrant.

-Traders: The Warring Race-

The Traders story begins in a distant region of the Delta Quadrant. The traders were the second of the great biological races and their actions would have a huge impact on the other races of the Delta Quadrant. The traders race was very intelligent, and over time they learnt to study themselves and the world around them. They discovered how to use natural materials and soon their understanding reached further than just their world.

But the Traders had one main setback. Their evolution had not been easy, and countless battles with the other species of their world had caused them to become a very aggressive race. The desire for battle flowed through there bodies, and once they had destroyed all other species on their planet, they set about fighting amongst themselves. The Traders population split into five different tribes, and these tribes constantly battled each other. After many long wars, the Traders were almost totally destroyed. One tribe finally realised the effects of this war. They needed to battle, it was the biggest part of there life, but if they continued they would become extinct.

This tribe decided that the only way to survive was to find a new world, a world with creatures that they could battle. They build huge ships and searched the Delta Quadrant for a place with creatures that would make strong enemies. After many hard years of suppressing their desires, they travelled to another galaxy, this galaxy was home to the Krong, and soon came the beginning of the biggest war the Delta Quadrant has ever seen.

-The Trader-Krong war-

As mentioned previously, there were four groups of Krong that had formed when they first landed on the planets. Over time these groups had restructured many times, and in doing so had increased there production immensely. They now had specialised units, units we call Cyber Mines, Cyber Factories and Cyber Energy Complexes.

As surface space became a limited resource, the Krong began to move into outer space. They needed the resources on the planets, but the core could easily be relocated to outer space. As this happened the unused CEC restructured and began absorbing energy while in orbit of a star. Hot stars provided CEC with more energy than crystals, and this ability provided the Krong with sufficient energy to open space rifts and jump to new locations. Immediately the Krong began to expand and had soon taken large sections of the galaxy.

All was going well for the Krong, until one fateful day when the Traders came to the Galaxy. The Krong needed to observe the actions of this new race, and so they sent one hundred Y-units to extend in subspace around the Traders system. The first Y-node was formed. The Y-node studied the Traders for a while, but it was not long until the Traders discovered that the Krong had planets in this galaxy and launched an attack. The Krong had never fought before, and immediately launched the only units they had spare, these were the orbiting CEC and Y-units.

In an epic war worse then any fought since, billions of Y-units and alien organisms were destroyed. On one daring raid, the Y-units discovered their kamikaze attack of bombarding and they began to assault the alien colony. The fighting ensued for years, the aliens adapted to killing such small targets. The Krong had started to take some major losses but kept on bombarding. The Traders forces seemed endless and the battle raged on for over a million years.

Eventually the Krong developed the ability to morph Y-units into conglomerates and the first U2 were made. These were much better adapted for attacking enemy ships. They morphed millions of U2s that decimated the alien fleets.

But the Traders advanced too. They built huge bases that served as a centre for all operations in various sections of the galaxy. These bases were invisible to Krong scanners and soon began to crush the U2 fleets almost effortlessly. The Krong fought fiercely, but once again they began losing. They started on a downward spiral until they finally succeeded in morphing the U3. The U3 was much more advanced than the U2 and could generate an energy blast, called an E-Storm that destroyed the Traders cloaking devices. They created a small node of U3s that were able to uncloak the bases and attack. It was shortly after this time that the traders launched an all out attack. Thousands of bases and billions of trader ships assaulted the Krong worlds. The Krong retaliated by sending huge fleets of U2s and U3s to decimate the alien invaders. Many Krong colonies were lost, but they succeeded in destroying most of the traders forces.

Those that remained split into two groups. The first set about rebuilding their forces, they now had a real enemy to fight and intended to return in full force and fight the Krong again.

-The Death of a Star: The first U4-

After the war the Krong had millions of M-nodes left over. They knew that the traders would rebuild their forces, and decided that they would strike first.
The Krong knew of the Destructium that was sealed within each planet and soon found that it had a power beyond anything else. They fused a small sample of this Destructium with a single U3, but the U3 was too small to safely contain the Destructium, so many more Y-units were added to the cluster. They had made an ancient prototype of the present day U4. With the Destructium safely inside it, the prototype U4 ventured into the Traders's sun, never to return.

As the U4 came to the centre it found that a small amount of Destructium was already present. The U4 set of a reaction that resulted in the breakdown of the entire lump of Destructium. The U4 was immediately destroyed.

At first there was little effect, but after about five minutes the star began to swell and its temperature raised significantly. Within minutes, the first few planets were vaporised. Huge solar flares began emanating from the star and soon the entire system was destroyed along with all of the traders. The star then started to collapse and within 5 hours had formed a black hole. The Krong soon perfected the U4 technology, and due to the natural amounts of Destructium within large hot stars, were able to create U4 without it.

This was the last anyone saw of that group of Traders, but the other group set out to into space. They eventually came across a small planet near the edge of the Milky way galaxy, a planet we humans called Earth.

-Humans and the remaining Traders-

Earth had always been a flourishing world, its climate and atmosphere made it a haven for life. But when the traders first found earth, it had recently been hit by a meteor and most of the species had been destroyed. The traders saw how the remaining creatures fought to survive and decided to study the creatures for millions of years. Over time one species developed that was very similar to the traders, and this species became the centre of their attention.

The traders learnt a lot about these creatures and themselves, they then decided to mix there DNA with a sample of these creatures and in doing so they passed on there intelligence to them. But these new creatures were different from the traders. They did not have the desire for war. The traders defended these creatures for many years, until they were capable of supporting themselves.

Soon the creatures had evolved into humans, and this is the story of where we humans came from. The traders had helped the humans race to grow, but in return they learnt a lot about themselves. Most importantly they lost the need for war and it is said that during their time on earth, they learnt the true meaning of life. The traders then left the humans and went back into space, they built bases and lived away from planets, secretly watching the over the humans and other races.

The early humans soon learnt how to use the materials of there world and soon had basic tools. Over time they learnt how to refine metals and found the energy contained within fossil fuels. This lead to an industrial age and soon they had technology close to that of the Traders. They too became interested in exploring space and built ships and set out into the sea of stars to find new worlds and start new colonies. Many groups left earth and they formed empires in many galaxies around the Delta Quadrant.

Of these many empires, some soon came to meet the Krong and Fagur. The Krong remembered the traders that had attacked them. They saw that humans were similar to these traders, and unaware that these new humans wanted peace, they collapsed many of the stars and destroyed many human empires. Obviously some fought back. The destruction of stars even got the Fagur involved and soon a whole new war had started.

The traders soon noticed that many galaxies were losing stars rapidly. They sent out a team to investigate as they knew that the large amounts of black holes would eventually cause huge problems in many galaxies, and they feared the destruction of the entire Delta Quadrant. They sent their own forces and tried to solve the differences between the three other races. Overtime they succeeded and decided to keep peace between the other races. In time they became the main overseers of transactions in the Delta Quadrant, and this is why they are know as the Traders.

The different empires from all races still fought against each other at times, and many formed alliances. These alliances fought huge battles against each other but the traders did not get involved. The battles only effected a few galaxies. They continued to trade with all sides and hoped that peace would eventually return.

<Will add more about how mercs came to exist etc…>

The following story is only a legend, none know if it is true, but many believe it is at least based on some fact.

-The end of galaxies and the U5-

Legend speaks of a group of Krong who refused peace with the traders. This group wanted revenge on the Traders, but also wanted to be the ultimate power in the Delta Quadrant. They broke away from the other Krong and left to find a new place where they could build their power.

But the legend goes on to speak of a power that this group harnessed shortly after the crushing of the Traders star. Its secrets are guarded carefully, for if this knowledge slipped into the wrong hands, the seeds of all our destructions would be sewn. However, this group decided to improve the U4 technology into a feared weapon they deemed the U5. This weapon harnessed the power of the huge amount of Destructium that was found at the centre of galaxies. Such a weapon was truly unforgiving as the swarm soon learned. The legends say they took the U5 they crafted to the heart of the Milky Way galaxy, the galaxy that was the original home of the Humans.

As the rouge swarm brought the U5 into the heart of the Milky Way, the Humans decided to act. They sent out a small fleet of their newest ships known as capital ships to the U5 and started to attack it with EMP weapons. They soon found that this was a huge weakness of the Krong and the galaxy was saved, but the Krong group was infuriated by the actions of the humans, and detonated the remaining section of the U5 in the heart of the Milky Way. Luckily for the galaxy, the EMP had done its damage, the U5 created a huge black hole, one that engulfed the centre of the galaxy into a single Black Hole. The rest of the galaxy formed into several star clusters that orbited the central Black Hole. This is the story of how The Eye came to exist, but it is only a legend, none know if it is true.

The rouge group was then destroyed by the humans. And the U5 was lost into history.

-The forgotten world, the great seal and lost Traders crystal-

If the legend is true, then somewhere on the edge of The Eye is the home planet of humans. Long abandoned, all that may exist is the ruins of the ancient civilisation that had once flourished on this world.

After the great cataclysm that had shaken the galaxy, humans mined the Destructium within the core of their home world named 'Earth'. A great machine had been built, and in this mine was hidden this secret technology that the humans planed to use. Its purpose or function is unknown, but we do know that this was not a complete machine but only half. The other half was a crystal that had never been discovered, but was known to exist on the original Traders home planet. A great seal was built to defend the technology until a time when the crystal was found. Since this day empires have searched for Earth and the Traders home planet, but none know if they still exist.
