Thanks

I will test out some invasion/bombarding then

Ok, sent a fleet with 100 transports to your planet at Mandgoloth. Will see how they do. I expect that 100 transports should handle it ok...but will see.

Also, just 1 thing. But when selecting the planet, it has no marking as an owned planet. Could that be added? And also who its owned by, and relation etc. Maybe even reources also, sort of like a lits of details useful to know. I knew in this case it was the only alpha gaea, but un systems with many of the same class planet, it will be confusing.

Also, is it possible to make it if you click on an owned planet, it brings up a menu for invade/bombard?

Also, the little 'Stop' or 'Go' button on the paths page, does it show what the fleet is doing, or change to wwhat it says? So, if I click it and it changes to 'Stop', does that mean the fleet has stopped, or if I click it it will stop? Couldnt quite work it out. So far its been saying stop, and nothing has happened yet, but not sure if a turn has ticked...

EDIT: I got it working now

Is the command get canceled or set to stopped after a first attack during invasion. Just I got 1 battle report that went streight into the battle arcive, dont think it was ever in the 'Battles in progress' section, and after that the fleet was set to stop in path manager. I am quite sure I didnt change it my self...

Anyway, I set it back and it worked again (although it keeps giving single battle reports, not one with several turns all in one like other battles) and I will see what happens next turn.

Also, I am guessing invasion works with formations also? So far I lost transports only, but I have cruisers in my fleet, and had point formation set. So now its hammer, so hopefully the cruisers will take damage in place of the transorts.

Just a question, how big are transports in comparison to other ships? Basicaly, on order of smallest to largest, wha order do ships go in

Including transports, col ships and drones etc.

Yeah, thei seems to be a bug with the invasion. It wont continue a battle for more than 1 turn, after this it just stops working and sets your fleet to 'Stop'.

It is not right after first battle that it changes, because fleet is set to Go the turn after battle, but it seems to change right before the battle would happen, at the end of the turn, but before the second battle is calculated...

These are action buttons, not status buttons. When you press go you start execution of path, when pressing stop you stop execution of commands.

Formations works based on classes "rank" instead of ship size. It works this way because of some system restrictions/architecture. So when I say point formation ships arrange as Drones, Freighters, Transports, Colony Ships, Corvettes ... Titans. For hummer formation in reversed order. It brings some confusion, but that is how it works.

Yeah, thei seems to be a bug with the invasion.
It stops, because it can't find a target for invasion, I'll check why and fix it asap.

Ok, that makes sence. So by using hammer formation (when you have war ships in fleet) you can protect all your transports/col ships etc.

Ok, thanks

I used your account for testing. Didn't get to planetary battle, though. Your fleet was too small to brake planetary defences. Try it now.

The base I was attacking was recovering armour each turn...how is that possible? I though only shield recovered each turn...

Is it taking negative damage or can they repair?

Also, your planet has 2 star fortresses and 2 ground batteries!!! Check the battle at Mandgoloth Delta started on turn 5652 and see the first battle turn. You have 4 orbital defences on planet:

Ground batteries
Ground Batteries
Star Fortress
Star Fortress

Also, in battle started on 5655 then it seems only 1 of each exist, but they recover armour each turn...not shield though, so maybe those are wrong way around?

Yes all buildings auto-repair each turn by 10%.

It just in battle report. When testing I do several battle round in a turn. So all this are shown in 1 report thus several buildings.

Shields and armor is autorepareing each turn. Probably you have fire power to just lower shields back without hitting armor too hard. So armor is regenerating slowly.

Ok, didnt know they recovered.

I will build a bigger fleet and see how that works out.

What range to buildings fight at? I mean if I am building a ship class best suited for attacking orbital buildings, what range weapons should I use, and what fleet range?

I am guessing that they would be mid range, but not sure...

Ship precision is calculated as orbital defences would fight as fleet at close range. So, depending on your fleet range it could be at maximum of middle ranged Orbital buildings on the other hand are not influenced by range.

Ok, so orbital defences use short range weapons then? So if I have mid range weapons on my ship, and set my distance to far, I should get maximum hits and take minimum damage possible?

Also, are bombs not influenced by range? So if I bombarded at this range would the damage be the same? Meaning I take less damage, but bombardment is equaly effective?

Another thing, I guess that armour and shield on ships defends against planetary attacks also? So some frigates in my front lines equiped with only armour and shield in point formation should give me a good way to soak up enemy attacks? While my back lines are equiped with weapons and have increased hit rate because of point formation?

I think later I will try and calculate the best possible ships and fleet formation for damage/cost and test it out.

You'll get maximum hits for your ships and take same damage as in other distances. As I said planetary defences are not influenced by range.

Bombs are not influenced by range. Same effectiveness for all ranges.

Yes, that's a strategy
