So far ive kinda figured out a really good way to start off for next round.

Step one: Get Research Facility ASAP
Step two: Go for automated factories
Step Three: Achieve colonization ships
Step Four: Get Frigates out exploring.
Step Five: Colonize everything you can.
Step Six: Research colonization of other planet types.
Step Seven: Colonize everything else.
Step Eight: Have a ball because things should go much quicker now.

Comments? Concerns?

Mine is similar, except colonisation comes later

Something like:

Get research facilities
Get automated factories
Get polution control
Get basic ships (corvettes)
Explore a bit
Get planetary defences
Fill home planet to maximum output in production
Build colonisation ships
Colonise good planets and repeat.

I think mines working, i get new technology every turn.

Can you say, exponential growth?

Yeah, me also. I have had to reduce the number of scientists because the extra is just wasted...Keeping up with its the hard part, I think it should work more like a queue...that way you can put several things in to research aand it will do one after the other...

I also have 139 production now, col ships on the way

I have 106 so far and a colony ship already waiting to colonize. 40-50 research is nice . I also can built titans, but havent research the classe yet, and im close to the Star Fortress.

191 production, and a col ship builds in 8 turns

I am starting on the bigger ships now.

I think once food sharing is done, my strategy will be to have separate planets for food, production, and science. This is what I did in DQ:E and it makes more sence. Instead of building every building on every planet, its better just to build whats needed for that planet, and put all the population to use those buildings to the maximum possible.

Also, money is important. I may have money planets that have hig production, but dont build anything, so all the production is converted to money...

BTW, I have 445 income from my home planet. That should keep those colonies going.

What does income even do? All mine is very low, but my planets are much more advanced then yours. It confuses me. And how are you makign that much money AND producing ships? Or did you stop?

Ok, here is my strategy after colonisation:

All planets:

Automated Factories
Orbital Industrial Facility
Pollution Processor + others if needed
All Biospheres

Farming Planets:

All food production buildings and other food increasing buildings.

Production Planets:

All production buildings
Core Waste Dump

Money Planets:

Same as Production, but include space port and stock exchange.

Well, it pays for maintenance. Not sure what happens if you run out, but my guess is buildings get destroyed...so not worth the risk.

And yeah, I temporarily stoped ship production, untill my colonies can support themselves.

Ah ok. I dont have any problems with my income vs maintenance.

I know im going to put all buildings on Production worlds, but probably only food and star ports on food/income worlds.

I will build orbital farms on all planets, and automatic things on all. But most other buildings only increase the ammount your workers make, so dont really do alot if you dont have people on that assignment. So in that case most farming buildings are no good on a production planet.
