I keep trying to create Empires and it lets me do so, and I manage it a little then leave. I log on a few minutes later to check on it and its still there. However, when I came back after an hour or two, I find my Empire gone. It just gives me a create empire screen

Hmmm, can You describe more details ?
What browser ? Whan Galaxy ? What race ?
What is Empire name and what is the errors (if any) ?
Are You trying to create new account or just try to join to the new Galaxy ? (For example, You have an account into TG and want to join to the Virgo ?)

I use Mozilla Firefox to browse, the problem occured in Virgo when I tried to create a Mercenary race, then a Human empire, then Mercenary again. The name was Asmodian Blackguard and I already have an account. I'm trying to join the Virgo Galaxy since my empire was destroyed in Training, but it wont let me create a new one, it just said it was unable to create one and I better choose another galaxy/race which I am trying to do.

Yes, this is a bug - just tested with Your account. Give me 1-2 hours an I`ll fix it.

I created an empire in TG and spawned on a planet: (I'm Krong btw)

This planet is UR on all resources
This planet has an orbital station (did I mention that I'm Krong?)
This planet has Guardian fleets in the system
This planet looks a lot like a Guardian planet.
This planet is size 5999

Would've kept this DL, but didn't want to get booted from the galaxy for breaking one of the rules - about taking advantage of a bug - like I did in Virgo

No problems.
For TG: we have used the same data template as for Virgo - so, You can got "Guardian" planet - just taste it
As for a bug in Virgo - I`ll take a look tomorrow. If there is a bug, it will be fixed.
As for game rules violation - I do not see where You violated them - reporting a bug is not a rule violation, so do not worry.

If it's possible to get a Guardian planet in TG, and it's NOT a bug, then nvm my post

Actually Green, I don't understand how it's NOT a bug, because I'm a Krong and the planet I started out with IS a Guardian planet. It has a fleet in that system, and the planet has an orbital station. These two are really weird because I'm Krong, and krong don't have orbital stations. Therefore it IS a bug, and I dunno.. .. ..

Brrr, wait a bit. Did You mentioned Virgo or TG galaxy ?

If we are speaking about TG - this is a "toy" Galaxy - You can make experiments here (we can do experiments here too) - this is Testing Grounds. But it is based on real game code - there is a little _datum_ difference: You can not win in TG, just because this is "neverend" round. So, Guardians are nominal: they has no planets, time never ticks for them, etc, etc - they are special players for system needs.

If You are speaking about Virgo - You can get Guardian planets in 3 cases (all cases are legal)

1) You can assimilate it (if You are Fagur).
2) You can just capture it after Guardian defence is down.
3) You can _RESPAWN_ on it, if planet is not belong nor to Guardians nor to players any more.

But case nr. 3) is _extremelly_ rare and can appear only if:
1) planet is cleared by the other players
2) no one occuped it
3) You are lucky - because system take _random_ free home system to spawn player.

So, we decided to not add special checking for this case - and possible You got it.

I do not consider this a bug, but we can change this behavor. In any case I`ll look in the Virgo database to be sure about situation.

The remnants of fleet is interesting - I personally deleted all Guardian fleets. I forgot about bases, yes, it is possible.... but this is TG, so I think there is no problems to delete all Guardian forces again.
