Lets see what other players will say about it first.

Of cause, this is only IMHO.

BUT PLEASE REMOVE NEW FLEET GENERATION FOR EACH NEW SHIP (may be excluding colony ships).
THIS IS MANDATORY.

That would not be a problem, but suppose you have several fleets in the system, which one we should add new ships too?

PS: To make your life easier, there is a function join all fleets in a system.

I known.

But After night fleets building I receive a List of 150-200 new Fleets with generated names.

Also i propose add new MOVE and UNION function for Fleet by drag and drop of fleet pictogram in fleet list
This feature tell player a simple way to consolidate fleets from another systems.
Also for Planet window will be nice to add Production relocation and automatically send fleet to target after building

Fleets list pagination will be added later. This will help a bit.

Added to proposed feature list.

I think maybe once star gates are implemented, maybe then it will not be such a problem to create large fleets. If you have gates at all your main systems, then you can bring all your ships from around the galaxy together to form a fleet.

Maybe it could be possible to have some user preferences for the game. One such could be to automaticaly add new ships to the first fleet in a system, or just merge all fleets that are idle around the same star. In this way it will be just like DQ:E.

Of course you could also have an option on each fleet, such as 'Do not merge', and checking this will prevent any other fleets merging or joining with this fleet.

So, for example, I have a fleet named 'Fleet Alpha', that has fleet ID of 1, and with this fleet I set 'Do not merge' status.

Now, I also have 2 other fleets, Fleet Beta (ID = 2) and Fleet Gamma (ID = 3), but these do not have the do not merge option set. I move all 3 fleets to the same star, and in this case Fleet Beta and Fleet Gamma will join, and as Fleet Beta has lowest fleet ID, all ships from Fleet Gamma go into Fleet Beta. But fleet Alpha will not merge, so it will stay separate.

If I now build a new ship in the same star, and I have the preferences set to join existing fleet, then it will search for the lowest ID fleet that does not have the 'do not merge' option set. So in this case, the new ship will join fleet beta, as it cant join alpha.

That's a solution. It do need some extra coding though

The question is do we really need al these features? Maybe just joining all new ships to first stationary fleet would be enough?

Well, that could work. But how do you decide what fleet is first? By lowest ID or something?

As for the other features of joining fleets in same star, its not nessasary. Its easy enough to join them from the fleets menu. But the problem I have, is knowing whats what. If on the actual star system view, you had an option to merge all fleets around that star, then that would be good. Because then I can go to a specific star, and merge the fleets their, instead of finding a star, remember the name, then search for the star in the fleets menu and finaly merge.

I think like with DQ:E, you should be able to see the fleets from a star/planet screen. Like have an option to view and control fleets directly from the planets page, not just use the fleets menu.

As I said before fleets screen is just an additional tool to manage fleets. Main functionality would be in the map, including fleets management. Maybe not all of them, but enough to easily manage them.
