Here are a few things that I think would make the game better (in no particular order):

1. Put a location column in the battle report list.
2. Show the relations status (War, Neutral, etc.) in the planet detail window.
3. I think that the empire ID should be shown on the main status page (Comcenter, Core Status, etc.).
4. Display "NAP" as the relations status instead of "Neutral" where appropriate.
5. In the Fleet List window, click on the ship icon to bring up the fleet detail window.
6. Add a Legend to the Tactical Map. (Yeah, I know it's in the Guide, I think it should be available directly from the Tactical Map.)
7. Make the "Y-Units needed:" box on the Krong morphing screen larger.
8. Add nodes/fleets/hordes involved to the battle report list.
9. Put a "Back" button on the "Mercenary Guild services" page.

Excellent ideas! Just 1 moer I can think of right now:
- In tactical map, be able to see the systems belonging to a certain empire highlighted. Or allow ppl to declare war against single empires. Otherwise, when an empire isn't in an alliance and you are attacking it, you have to keep on going back to the "known planets" window, and without the glaxy, its comparatively harder to find your closest fleets

it is too great tactical advance for an attacker

if it were implemented I already used to pick out storng or weak opponent, depending on situation. But still disagree with the idea.

and how a single empire will do the same without having option to declare war?

when you buy stuff it is limited to 999,999
it shoudl be either 9,999,999 or 99,999,999
its not as if they were short for space
unless there is a technical reason
its just so annoying doing 999,999 about 10+ times

You would have to add the ability for single empires (ones that aren't part of an alliance) to declare war and propose NAPs. Empires that are part of an alliance would be bound to the alliance's relations.

Another possibility would be to make everyone always part of an alliance. When someone starts out, or when someone quits an alliance, they would be put into their own personal alliance. Alliance joining would have to be adjusted, though. Perhaps some way to turn off the ability for others to request to join or an auto-reject option.

I think what should happen is another Tournament of Alliances A straight out War right from the begining of the round and the only way out is to have the opponent ask for a declaration of peace signed bye the agressor. ("IE you would have too surrender before the punishment will stop")It would also allow the first three hundred turns to grow, before any attacks but after that it is all out War.Some what like the round in Pleiads this round.
