I bombarded a human planet, here's the key numbers from the report:
Attacker:
Damage 133416.67
Bombers 26030 11425 14605
Defender:
Damage 198800.00
Defensive Structures
Bases 25 2 23
Other Structures/Units
Population 7416 2084 5332
Troops 0 0 0
Habitats 0 0 0
Production Complexes 0 0 0
Science Labs 0 0 0
Mine Complexes 139 21 118
Farm Complexes 69 15 54
The defender seems to have 42% bonus to his damage. Assuming the same bonus applies to hitpoints, the total hitpoints of destroyed structures and population comes to 36976. What happened to the rest of my damage?

You forgot about random value distribution - each attack has + or - up to 30% of damage.
In any case, we will check this battle. This message was edited by Green

I don't think I forgot anyhing. My total damage was 133416, the HP of destroyed structures 36976. That is 72% less than the firepower, well outside the +/- 30%. Besides, unless I am very mistaken, the +/- 30% is already included in the total damage printed in the report. Otherwise I have another bug to report This message was edited by Zoo

All bombardement damage is distributed to full surface, so if in planet you have some buliding that occuped not full planet size then
damage=(OccuppedSize/FullSize)*PassedDefenceBombers +-30%

LOL, so the bombers just randomly drop their load all over the poor planet? Allright, that would explain it
