While i DID turn galactic destruction via black hole into an art form, i dont think blackholes should be in DQ:H, at least not player made ones, and not for humans.

If this game is supposed to take place before DQ:E, then how can humans possbily make black holes when they cant in DQ:E?

I think the super weapon should be like a planetary cannon or some kind of station. K, if you ever read into the star wars universe, there are things much more fun then the U4 or even the Death Star.

Case in point: Galaxy Gun.

The galaxy gun would be a long range offensive weapons platform that fires projectiles faster then light at its targets.

Its operations would be highly variable and depend entirely upon upkeep. Like 20 planets along solely making profit and not doing a thing else would allow 1 shot for every 25+ turns.

It shouldnt have the power to destroy a star or even a planet, but it could level a fleet or a planet.

Other Weapons ive bee scheming up: Gravity Cannon, Ion Cannon, Planet Cracker, and others

I was also thinking that planetary shields could be useful.

After Warp Shields, have a research called Massive Shield Theory.

Then after stellar converter you can put Planetary Shield Theory that requires the Massive Shield Theory, then you can put Planetary Shield Generator building after Planetary Shield Theory.

Agree with Disrupter on that one.

Actually we have such a weapon in DQ:H. It is called Stellar Converter and it gos as defensive building on a colony. The details are not set yet as battles are not implemented.

Thats a good idea.

Oh, cool Ive been wondering what that building is.

They dont have to be like crazy, just another line of defense that makes taking planets that much tougher.

Well, maybe not BH, but some other space based weapons like EMP etc...This can start at a specified location and each turn spread out further and half in dammage done...it can keep going untill the dammage is to low. Maybe draw a circle on the map showing as it expands...

Also, maybe a tear in time/space...these can be invisible and any ships that go past them can disappear for a while, and turn up a few turns later in some random area of the galaxy...

Also, this could happen on stars also, they disapear for a while, and production stops during this time, but they come back eventualy

Hehe. You'll have your part of events. To name few: Stars going supernova, space-time continuum anomaly, planetary disasters, etc.

Now thats what I'm talking about If all goes badly and fleets cant do the job...incinerate the planet

I think Maverick means that those things could happen randomly. Which is more fun.

If all goes wonderfully for you, your planet is incinerated regardless

No, not my planets!!! I want to incinereate other peoples planets, not mine And if its random, then it wont be something you can rely on in battles...

You should always rely on random chance in battles. All the greatest battles in history were affected by random chance.

I think you should make your own random chance

Theres more fun in random chance then "make your own random chance" (aka strategy). The Channel was calm on D-day and it allowed the Allies to invade Fortress Europe, the Allies had nothing to do with that, it was random chance.
