Just an idea, but to help speed up exploring some, maybe a new building that uses science points to explore stars would be good.
I don't know how many points exactly per star, but maybe between 10 and 20 would be good...
You can still use ships, but this will give you the option to explore stars.
I think that it should work like a normal research, where you can explore 1 star and add 1 item into scince list (preventing anything else researching at this time) or you can mass explore but this adds up all the research points for these stars, and they only get explored once you have enough points for all stars in that set.
So, for example if its 10 points per star, and you try and explore 100 stars. An item named 'explore' will be put into science list needing 1000 points, and when this is complete all stars in this group will be explored
Something like that could help exploring be a bit faster...

| I see DQ:E influence here . The idea is not so bad, but not so easy to implement, taking in consideration current system architecture. I'll think about it, though.

Ok, their needs to be some easier way to explore though, sending ships to every star will never be possible, it will take far too long, and is boring...
Also it prevents players finding each other, and stops war early on...

| Agree that is boring to explore each star alone, but don't forget about alliances. A solo player will probably explore the area around its main planet. An alliance with 10 members will have explored entire galaxy in very short time.
I have in mined a way of auto exploring, plus your idea is good too

Ok, any way to explore automaticaly would be good, because if players want to play solo, or have small alliance, its still hard. Its turn 500+ now, and I have explored about 1/8 of the galaxy only, and thats with trying...I am colonising faster than I can explore
