ok...for anyone posting to this thread..i'll ask u guys to go check out TG..because of krong's crazy colonization, fog there has like over 2000 planets...why is that unfair? because that's just impossible with conquering...in conquering u need troops, and for troops you need population..and population growth is real slow, and troop training takes a fair bit of time as well!!

Anyway, for what my ideas are worth, here's to possible suggestions:

1. a mercenary type scenario for krong where the more planets/nodes/units an empire has, the higher the upkeep (exponentially) so that after a certain time a CM would take more metal to upkeep than it produces, CEC more energy to upkeep than produces, blah blah..
i know that seems kinda unfair..but so is the ability to colonize every planet in the galaxy if one wants..

2. precision bombing for humans: perhaps less damage, but targets only defense structures and maybe a bit of collateral damage...it gets annoying doing all the calculation every time to calculate how many bombers i'll need only to wipe out the defenses but leave the planet intact..or maybe make it so that even after bombing and losing all troops/population/hives/nodes on a planet..the planet will continue to remain in that empire for about 20 or so turns so that after bombardment one can land troops there to conquer...maybe make it so that in such a situation, no resources will be captured (they will be destroyed in the bombardment, etc.) to make it more fair..
