Ok, here is a plan for the colonies page:

Short description about colonies.

Description of colonies page.

Description about the individial colony page (the one you get when clicking an individual planet). What is the real name for this 'page', even though its not actualy a page...more an overlay of current page.

Within this section I will explain:

How to order buildings and ships, how to sell buildings and colony notebook. Also renaming planet.

Finaly a section about how to start a new colony (colonisation).

Anything else needed for this page?

Also, if you try and create an empire in a galaxy where you already have an empire, what happens? Do you get an error message, or will it replace your existing empire.
Depending on set criteria you'll get an error or another empire will be created. Your old empire is not replaced.

So what exactly happens then, if another is created, do you have 2 empires shown for the same galaxy? I tried and got the error saying my max limit for galaxy was reached, but is it in theory possible to have 2 empires in same galaxy with 1 account? Does this need explaining, or it the bit below accurate:

"Each player may create an empire in multiple galaxies at the same time, however only one empire per player is allowed in each individual galaxy at any one time."
It Ok for now. I don't think that we'll allow more than 1 empire in a galaxy for an account anyway.

Hi. Could you please say few words about you, like where do you come from, age, gender, where did you find info about this site, etc.? DQ:H is in closed beta now and we would like to be sure who is accepted for testing it.

BTW you wrote you make this types of games. Any game released?

PS: Your nickname - is it from Travian web game?

I am from Michigan in the USA, 25 years of age, male. Site info was found via simply looking into browser games just happened by it actually.

I don’t make these game professionally …but I have been gaming for 16years and create a lot of tabletop games of my own including an Email based game somewhat like DQ: Empires

PS: I do have a Travain Account by that name yes, but the nick name came from my favorite character in WoW, World of Warcraft.

That’s sounds interesting, what sorts of table top games do you mean? As in board games, or card games or something else? Also, how does an email game work?

I am also always thinking of ideas for games, mostly ideas for console based RPG's that I don’t have the skills to make, but me and another player from here (Disrupter) used to discuss ideas a lot. Not sure where he has been recently, hasn’t been on here for a while...

Anyway, we have been trying to learn enough to make a game, and there are lots of programs for game development, so it’s totally possible, with enough time...

What sorts of games do you normally play and like? My favourite genre is RPG/Adventure, with a really deep and meaningful story...and I have been writing my own story and game for about 7 years now...haven't even started to make it yet, but got tons of ideas and a rough plan...one day I hope to be able to make it, or at least a decent demo of it. Then maybe try and get funding from somewhere to get a team and make it properly.

In short time we'll open it for beta testing. Currently the game is on dqh.dqteam.com (will be changed later). You are welcome.

Oh, ok. I never actualy played DnD before, but like things like Final Fantasy and things like that.

Have you ever tried to make a computer game? Are you any good at programming/art etc? Because there are lots of good programs, depending on what your good at.

One I first used few years ago was Game Maker (http://www.yoyogames.com/make), it is only for 2D games (or was anyway, not sure now), but you don't need any programming knowledge, and can drag and drop a game together. Its a little hard to understand at first, but once you start to get it, you can do quite a lot. You can make your own art, or download quite a lot of things from that site and others.

You can also find some things for 3d games also, and can make simple 3d games (like FPS) without any programming also. See http://t3dgm.thegamecreators.com/

If you can program and want to learn lots, then the possibilities really grow a lot. See http://www.3dgamestudio.com/ or http://www.garagegames.com/

Game Maker is free, where the others are not, but have free trials to test them out.

Here is some text for the colony page:

----------------------------------------

Empires can form colonies on many planets throughout the galaxy. Once started a colony is quite independent from your overall empire. It has its own population [insert symbol], specialists [insert symbol] and buildings, as well and its own food [insert symbol] and production [insert symbol] output.

Colonisation:

To start a new colony you need a Colonisation Ship, like all ships these can be built using the Ship Designer, as long as you have the necessary technologies. See the Ships[make link] page for more details on designing and building ships. You will also need to research X-Colonisation in order to use the colonisation command.

Once you have everything required, there are several ways to colonise a planet.

[Insert all colonisation details once implemented]

Colonies Screen:

You can access the Colonies Screen [insert menu symbol] from the menu at the top of the page. On this page you can view a rundown of the status of each colony in your possession.

On the left is an image of the planet, holding the mouse over this will result in the details of this planet being displayed at the top of the page. Here you can view important information about the planet and colony. To the right are three columns showing the current specialist assignments for each planet. You can click and drag these specialists from one assignment to another, and even between planets in the same star system. If you have spare transports, specialists can also be moved to planets in other star systems.

Finally, clicking the planet image on the left will open the Colony Information Screen, with the full information about that colony, its star system, and gives you options for building and setting assignments.

Colony Information Screen:

The Colony Information Screen can be accessed from the Colonies Page, as described above, or by clicking a planet on the galaxy map.

Once open, this page gives you a full run down of that colony, as well as a view of its star system. You can hold the mouse over other planets to view information about them, and if you have another colony in this system, you may click it to view its Colony Information Screen.

At the bottom of the page is the colony build menu. Here you have several options for customising your colony:

[Construction Yard Symbol] | Construction Yard| [Need Description]
[Ship Yard Symbol] | Ship Yard | [Need Description]
[Manage Buildings Symbol] | Manage Colony Building | [Need Description]
[Colony Notebook Symbol] | Colony Notebook | [Need Description]

Colony Queue:

[Need Description]

----------------------------------

Will add some more soon
